Head of Technical Department

Reporting to the CEO of BW Pacific, the main responsibilities:

  • Lead and run the Technical department
  • Deliver efficiency and cost competitiveness, including but not limited to achieving energy efficiency in all vessels and optimising vessels availability for business
  • Deliver great solutions to our customers with Zero Harm; excellent safety records of crew, vessels and cargo
  • Ensure that vessels comply with rules and regulations and that all Licenses to operate are maintained (including DOC)
  • Manage and ensure competitive OPEX/CAPEX expenses
  • Maximise operating profit without compromising health, safety, security and the Environment
  • Responsible for identifying, recruiting, developing, motivating and retaining talents to achieve the Company’s vision and mission
  • Drive and instil a culture of performance and accountability
  • Collaborate effectively with all functions in BW Pacific and BW Group to set and deliver ambitious results

Ideal candidate: qualifications and requirements

  • Solid technical background, combined with experience leading teams to achieve and deliver ambitious results internally and to customers
  • Customer-orientated, possess strong values and personal integrity
  • Ambitious, performance-orientated, talented and have a good track record in driving continuous improvement and performance
  • Adaptable to change and comfortable with ambiguity
  • Innovative and proven track record in finding new solutions to old problems
  • Experience with digitalisation
  • Master in stakeholder management and interpersonal skills; a people-person who is able to connect at both technical and non-technical levels
  • Possess commercial acumen to understand the underlying business from a financial perspective
