Greg Scallen is the Chief Legal Officer of BW Solar. With more than 20 years of experience practising law in the energy industry, Greg is an expert on the development, financing, construction, and operation of utility-scale solar, wind, and hydroelectric generation around the globe.
Before joining BW Solar, Greg held multiple leadership roles with SunEdison, Inc., including Chief Restructuring Officer (Canada), Head of Legal, and the Global EPC, Procurement and Construction Safety. While at SunEdison, Greg sat on the Global Compliance Committee, where he managed the North American regulatory business unit, initiated the redevelopment of its global procurement and construction programme, and, together with his team, developed and financed several gigawatts of solar and wind installations. Greg is also a former Chair and Board Member of CanSIA and has contributed to several publicly traded energy companies as their board member.
Greg cut his teeth in the energy space as Counsel for Ontario Power Generation and later became the Lead Counsel for the redevelopment of the Lower Mattagami River Project, a 500MW hydroelectric river complex expansion.
Greg holds a Bachelors of Arts (Hon) from the University of Toronto and a Bachelor of Laws from Dalhousie University.
