SINGAPORE / CHINA – 9 October 2023 – BW Water Pte. Ltd. (“BW Water”), a joint-venture of BW Group Limited, has completed the full acquisition of US-based SafBon Water Technology, Inc (“SWT”) from SafBon Water Service (Holding), Inc., Shanghai.
SafBon Water Technology, Inc. (formerly Doosan Hydro Technology and American Engineering Services Inc.) is headquartered in Tampa, Florida, USA and has a 35-year track record in desalination and integrated system solutions with membrane treatment technologies. The company is responsible for developing over 200 municipal and industrial installations worldwide. Recent large-scale desalination projects include the Desalcott Desalination Plant Expansions in Trinidad and Tobago, and the Gaza USAID Desalination Plant in the Gaza Strip, the largest RO membrane USA based PFAS treatment system presently being supplied for Brunswick County in North Carolina and also one of the world’s largest land-based Sulphate Removal System located in Saudi Arabia.
This is BW Water’s first strategic acquisition outside Asia – as part of its continued global expansion – unlocking new markets with desalination competencies in Asia and expanding its water and wastewater treatment solutions in Americas. Since its inception in 2019, BW Water has significantly increased its revenue, with a current order book of over US$100 million and a strong core business pipeline in Southeast Asia. Following its integration into BW Water, SWT will be rebranded under the BW Water brand.
