TORONTO, 5 December 2023 – BW Solar has today announced the sale of two Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects with a combined capacity of 525 MW AC to Spearmint Energy, a next-generation renewable energy company enabling the clean energy revolution through battery energy storage.
The projects sold include a 125 MW project and a 400 MW project, located in Indiana and part of the Midcontinent ISO (MISO) Regional Transmission Organization (RTO). Spearmint Energy has named the projects Green Eagle BESS and Pumpkinvine BESS, respectively, and will continue their development. Both projects have an anticipated commercial operation date in 2027.
