BW LNG is delighted to share that the steel-cutting ceremonies for two of our four LNG newbuilds took place on 24 July 2024 and 21 August 2024 at Hanwha Ocean in South Korea.
This key milestone marks the official start of our vessels’ construction journey, with the cutting of its first sheet of steel. This particular tradition celebrates the collaborative effort and hard work that has gone into the design of the ship.
The ceremonies were led by our dedicated site team, alongside representatives from DNV and Hanwha Ocean. The event even featured a traditional rice cake-cutting ceremony to celebrate this momentous occasion.
We look forward to the progress of our BW LNG vessels and taking delivery in 2025.
