18 September 2024, ROMANIA – Hafnia is pleased to announce the successful conclusion of our Senior Officers Conference, held in Brasov, Romania, on September 17-18, 2024.
The event brought together 84 participants, including seafarers, onshore staff, and guest speakers, to discuss key industry topics and Hafnia’s future vision.
Day 1 featured lively discussions on critical subjects such as Anti-Bribery and Anti-Corruption, Crisis Management, Human Safety, Global Security, Vetting, and Operations. Interactive case studies on the Charter Party and Voyage Party encouraged problem-solving and collaboration among the participants.
On Day 2, the conference split into sessions focusing on Marine and Technical Performance, with additional case studies. Guest speakers, including representatives from Green-Jakobsen, introduced Hafnia’s new Ambitious Leadership Program @ SEA, which launches in October. This program aims to foster continuous leadership development and create a culture of psychological safety. Additionally, a professor from the Copenhagen Business School shared insights into new learning opportunities that could be provided for Seafarers leading to certification from leading Universities to further career prospects.
The event concluded with updates from the Crewing department on the company’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) initiatives, cadet development, and employee engagement. A representative from Martrust also shared exciting news about the E-Wallet system, leading to a fruitful Q&A session that sparked valuable discussions.
Outside the formal sessions, attendees enjoyed a welcome dinner and a Gala dinner, where three Senior Officers were honoured with Long-Service Awards for 10, 20, and 25 years of dedicated service to Hafnia and BW.
