Hafnia Hosts a Networking Night in Partnership with Women in Shipping

13 November 2024, COPENGAGEN – Hafnia is proud to have hosted its first event in partnership with Women in Shipping (WIS) in a networking event held on November 7 at Hafnia’s Copenhagen offices.

This event aimed at furthering diversity in the shipping was marked via a “Networking Night,” open to all WIS members and all their respective colleagues offering a “speed networking” format to help attendees connect in an approachable and organized way. This interactive structure allowed participants to engage in meaningful conversations guided by conversation cards on diversity and inclusion in the maritime industry – formed by actual results of challenges within the industry related to the topic. The event was successfully attended by over 70 members of the shipping community from Copenhagen.

The evening began with a welcome note from Hafnia’s CEO, Mikael Skov, a key advocate for industry-wide inclusivity and Co-Chair of the Global Maritime Forum’s All Aboard Alliance. In his address, Mikael reinforced Hafnia’s commitment to championing diversity within the maritime sector, emphasizing collaborative efforts as essential in building a more inclusive and innovative future for the maritime energy transition.

Throughout the evening, attendees engaged in rotating small-group discussions, encouraged by conversation prompts designed to spark insights and inspire fresh perspectives. Participants had the opportunity to share their professional journeys, learn from one another’s experiences, and discuss new approaches.

Key themes and insights from the speed networking session will be shared with all participants post-event, continuing the dialogue across respective attendee organizations.

Hafnia thanks Women in Shipping for their partnership and to all attendees present for making this event a success!
