On 10 April 2025, BW LNG was delighted to host 15 Maritime Trainees at the BW Group office in Singapore, arranged by our own 2024 trainees Johan Drægebø and Ivar Falle Risan.
Organised by the Norwegian Shipowners’ Association (Norges Rederiforbund), the 18-month Maritime Trainee programme combines academic learning with practical work experience at leading Norwegian maritime companies.
The afternoon saw an engaging presentation by Ming Wei Chan, Analyst, Gas Solutions at BW LNG, who shared about BW’s history, our values and ambitions, and conducted an LNG 101 session for those unfamiliar with the sector!
The session was part of a week-long learning journey through Singapore’s maritime ecosystem, which included yard visits to Seatrium and ECOsubsea at Bee Sin Shipyard, industry partners such as Western Bulk and ODFJELL CHEMICAL TANKERS LTD, and key government bodies including the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA).
