At BW LNG, we recently hosted a joint workshop in Oslo with our colleagues from BW LPG, bringing together teams from HR, HSEQ (Health, Safety, Environment, and Quality), and Crewing to deepen our shared understanding of how to build a culture where everyone feels safe, heard, and valued.
As part of our ‘Respect and Belonging at Sea’ programme, the workshop explored examples of bullying and harassment onboard and ashore, through the lens of law, regulation, and psychology. With insights from maritime legal and insurance experts, we discussed how to recognise, respond to, and prevent inappropriate behaviour, and how international standards and flag state requirements shape our approach.
A big thank you to Dr. Felix Anker Klein – Project Lead for Respect and Belonging at Sea Programme who hosted the workshop, and our speakers Mari Verling, Partner at Kvale, Stephen Harper, Head of Legal – Shipping at BW Group, and Siri Merete Skjørestad and Lene Bjørhei Skyum from the Claims department at Gard AS.
At BW LNG, we believe in a harassment-free workplace where everyone feels safe, respected, and empowered to do their best work. Let’s keep working together to make respect and inclusion central to our BW culture!
