Bogdan Dinu

Director of Corporate Development

Bogdan has over 10 years of experience in the renewable energy industry, focusing on the development, construction, and operations of commercial and utility-scale solar portfolios in North America.

Prior to BW Solar, Bogdan worked at several Canadian renewable development firms, helping mature the businesses and establish their international footprints through acquisitions and greenfield development. Most recently, Bogdan led Origination and Project Development for Saturn Power in the New York State market, building a portfolio of +150 MW of early and mid-stage CDG projects as part of the NYSERDA NY-SUN Program.

Bogdan holds an HBSc. in Economics and Psychology from the University of Toronto.

Jared Sproule

Senior Director of Solar Development

Jared has over 11 years in the renewable energy industry and has experience in project development, business development, community engagement, and permitting of wind, solar, hydro and transmission in North America.

Prior to BW Solar, Jared worked as a Renewable Site Developer with TransAlta Corporation and Right of Way Planner with AltaLink Management Ltd. He has developed, planned and contributed to the construction of hundreds of megawatts of renewables projects and various transmission projects.

Jared most recently led Business Development and Community Relations at BluEarth Renewables.  His focus was on establishing Community and Indigenous Partnerships and the project development and permitting of wind, solar, hydro and storage projects across Canada and the United States. Jared has experience leading various procurement responses, negotiating power purchase agreements and providing project proposals for various commercial and industrial clients.

Jared holds a Bachelor of Science in Geography from the University of Calgary.

Michael Malguarnera

Senior Manager, Market Analytics

Mike has over ten years of experience in electric power utilities and has worked in multiple sectors, including investor-owned utilities, cooperatives, municipalities, developers, and independent power producers. He has an extensive background in engineering for generation, power cost modelling, and power markets. Most recently, he was a Manager of Portfolio Strategy at ACES, helping clients with long term resource planning. Previously, he was a Senior Transmission Analyst at ACES working with FTRs/TCRs, an Indiana State Engineer for Aqua America, and a Generation Engineer at Indiana Municipal Power Agency.

Mike holds a Masters degree in Mechanical Engineering from Purdue University, a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Case Western Reserve University, and a professional engineer in the State of Indiana.

Grant Johns

Solar/Storage Developer

Grant is an industry leader in renewable energy, energy storage, and large-scale power systems. He has led the engineering, procurement and construction of many utility-scale solar projects and over 65 MWhs of battery energy storage systems (BESS), including Canada’s largest BESS facility and the world’s first at a nuclear power plant.

Prior to BW Solar, Grant worked at several companies in the power industry as an electrician, technologist, engineer, project manager, and director of engineering. His varied experience equips him with an unparalleled understanding of the project cycle and its intricacies.

Grant holds a BSc. in Electrical Engineering with a specialization in Power Systems from the University of Western Ontario.

Mayur Agarwal

Strategic Finance

Mayur is a seasoned infrastructure investment professional. He has 10 years of experience screening, analysing and structuring investment opportunities specific to power projects, including Coal, Hydro, Solar and Storage. Mayur has evaluated over 2 billion dollars USD in investments across every continent.

Mayur holds a Bachelor of Business Management from the University of Mumbai and a Masters of Business Administration from N.L. Dalmia Institute.

Dan Huntington

Project Developer

Dan has more than 5 years of experience in municipal planning, permitting, and development at the town, county, and state levels throughout NYS. With a passion for developing socially-conscience renewable projects, Dan gathers strong stakeholder support in the public and private sectors, leveraging his previous experience running a nonprofit organisation and marketing experiences at Fortune 500 companies.

To date, Dan has developed a portfolio of over 150 MW in CDG and Battery Storage projects in NYS.

Ali Rodrian

Project Developer

Ali has over 10 years of experience in large scale utility energy development across the United States. She has experience from on the ground to desktop siting, local, state and federal constraint guidance, permitting and mitigation development, engineering oversight/assistance, and public relations management for a variety of renewable energy projects from the Midwest to the East Coast. As a native to the Midwest and a former consultant, Ali brings depth and breadth of local knowledge of communities and regulations for project development. Ali was most recently a Permitting Manager at sPower (now AES). She was also involved in developing some of the largest solar projects in Virginia and some of the first solar projects in Townships across Michigan.

Ali holds a Bachelor’s of Science Degree from the University of Kentucky in Biological Sciences.

Carl Siebing

Senior Project Developer

Closing in on a decade in the renewables industry, Carl has successfully driven the development of solar projects through local, state, and federal permitting. He also managed TSO/ISO/RTO relations and processes, with a commitment to building mutually beneficial relationships throughout. Highly capable of identifying and minimising risk, he has extensive experience overseeing transactional relationships, NTP/COD Due Diligence, M&A, and title issues.

Previously, Carl had conducted portfolio development across all workstreams of 140MWac Community Solar projects and 250MWac utility-Scale solar projects. He had successfully navigated through the full width of procedural, legal, practical, and technical challenges over the years. In total, Carl had managed projects that had an estimated worth of $400M and conducted tax investor Due Diligence on $900M portfolios.

Carl holds an MBA from Illinois Institute of Technology, USA, and an MSc. in Peace & Conflict Studies from Uppsala University, Sweden.

Adam Ellis

Director of Real Estate

Adam Ellis brings over twelve years of experience in a wide variety of energy development areas, including renewable energy, natural gas services, customer service, people development, management, negotiation, sales, and training. His speciality in development encompasses solar, wind, oil, gas, coal, and limestone.

Prior to joining BW Solar, Adam developed a pipeline of over 400MW of solar throughout the New England territories in both utility-scale and community solar. Having worked across the United States, Adam is an expert on engaging landowners, developers, financiers, and municipalities to bring clean energy to a full circle.
