Gareth McDonald is the Vice President of Project Execution at BW Solar. He has over 17 years of experience in the renewable energy industry, in progressive development roles for multiple Independent Power Producers (IPPs). He has lived and worked around the world, and developed renewable energy projects in the UK, Canada, and USA.
Prior to BW Solar, Gareth worked as a developer for wind, solar, hydroelectric and energy storage projects. Gareth was formerly the Director of Project Development at a Canadian IPP, responsible for the company’s US and Canada development pipeline. During his career in renewables, Gareth has been responsible for all aspects of project development and pipeline management. He was also responsible for multiple energy procurement responses, Board reporting, partnerships, and contract negotiations.
Gareth holds a Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Environmental Science from the University of Ulster and is a certified PMP.
