Human Rights
BW LNG is committed to respecting human rights and decent working conditions and to upholding human rights throughout all its business operations, regardless of the countries in which they are conducted. Consistent with its governing principles, BW LNG anticipates full compliance with these standards from all entities and partners within its supply chain.
BW LNG supports internationally recognised human rights standards, including those set out in the International Bill of Human Rights and the International Labour Organisation Declaration on Fundamental Principles and Rights at Work. BW LNG firmly opposes human slavery, human trafficking, forced labour, child labour and torture. BW LNG also embraces a Zero-Harm safety vision, through which it strives to create the safest work environment possible for every employee, both onshore and at sea.
In addition, BW LNG complies with applicable laws and regulations in the countries in which it operates, including the Norwegian Transparency Act (NTA). The NTA came into force in Norway in July 2022 and requires larger companies to work to avoid and address adverse impacts on people and society. In addition, the companies covered by the act must also be transparent about their work with the public. In response to this legislative movement and to ensure continued alignment with its corporate values, BW LNG has reviewed the approach it takes towards human rights in its own operations and supply chain.
